At only 23, pianist Zhenni Li has performed extensively throughout the most prestigious concert halls in the United States, Europe and China, including the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Morgan Library in New York, The Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, The California Theater in San Jose, and the National Concert Hall in Tianjin, China. Her wide-ranging musical interests encompass a large repertoire ranging from Bach to Kirchner, including the complete Beethoven sonatas and the vast majority of Chopin works. Ms. Li is actually preparing the complete piano works of Debussy.
Ms. Li is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, most recently the 1st Prize at the unanimity of the Jury at the Concours Musical de France, and Second Prize at the Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition in Connecticut. Zhenni Li is also a top prizewinner of the International Russian Piano Competition in San Jose, where she performed Rachmaninoff Second Piano Concerto with the New Symphony Orchestra, a top prizewinner of the Kosciusko Chopin Piano Competition and a co-winner of the MTNA National Piano competition in Washington State. She also earned top prizes in many academic competitions in China, including the Xinghai and Toyama competitions in China. In early 2004, she won the prestigious Yamaha Scholarship, a distinguished honor bestowed upon only twenty piano students throughout Asia.
In addition to her studies at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Seymour Lipkin and Joseph Kalichstein, Ms. Li has received the advices from an world-renowned pianists, including Ginette Gaubert, Sergei Mukulik (a former assistant of pianist Tatiana Nikolayeva in Moscow Conservatory), Matti Raekallio, Joaquin Soriano, Oxana Yablonskaya, Zhou Guangren and Jerome Lowenthal, as well as her teachers in China and her father, from whom she cultivated strong root in Chinese traditional music.
An active chamber musician, Zhenni Li has also gained extensive training from eminent chamber music coaches, Joseph Kalichstein, Martin Canin, Rohann De Silva, Joel Krosnick, George Sopkin, Timothy Eddy, Barbara Mallow, Katherine Murdock. She has performed in well-known chamber festivals such as Kneisel Hall and Juilliard ChamberFest.
